I have been to Devon a million times but this is my first time posting a review. I ordered takeout but from what I could see the restaurant was clean, and casual. The service was friendly and fast. I ordered mutton biryani, seek kabob, butter chicken, palak paneer, and naan. The biryani was more of a pulao (not Sindhi/Karachi style you get most other spots on Devon). It was heavy on cardamom, not soggy at all and I loved it. The butter chicken had just the right balance of creaminess and spice. There was this unique flavor to it, it had depth, it wasn't just cream. The seekh kabob (or maybe the whole meal?) came with 2 chutneys, one green and one yellow one. I'm used to the green one (mint - and thick not watered down) and the yellow one was so unique and different, it almost had south Indian flavors and it was so delicious! The yogurt sauce had perfect little shredded carrots, and maybe some other vegetable in it. Again, they did not water it down like other restaurants do, it was thin, but still remained creamy. Lastly the standout for me was the naan: it was enormous, had the perfect texture: crispy at the edges, pillowy soft in the middle. It's evident that everything here is made from scratch. Im so excited I found a spot that takes a lot of pride in their food.

I tried the Tandoor Tikka Boti Roll/Wrap for lunch today because my coworker recommended it. It was prepared very nicely and quickly - 15 minutes. Tandoor Tikka Boti Wrap was super yummy and flavorful! Definitely recommend this spot for a tasty lunch or dinner. 5/5

Hadn't been to Devon since I used to regularly visit with my father back when I lived in Chicago. It's changed (Viceroy is long gone) but it hasn't in that walking into a random restaurant based on the other clientele still results in a good to great meal. Walking past this odd set up (looks like two different narrow restaurants when looking in) I saw men on one side, women on the other. It wasn't official, but seemed pretty Muslim and no one was Gora so I popped in. I made an error in judgement based on the name and had some really good kababs. The mistake was not waiting and observing before ordering, these two different groups of South Asian women were clearly enjoying the Kadai chicken, and that's the dish that makes this place truly great. It's an ugly duckling of a restaurant but the service is good by Indo Pak standards but the ambiance and service really don't matter when this sort of highest excellence in Kadai chicken is here. It's halal.
